This meeting is all about you - your current general physical and mental health, your current lifestyle and your goals - maybe to have more energy, more confidence, worry less and feel brighter in mood, or find your way to a calmer mind or better quality sleep. Using motivational techniques I can help you bullet-proof your mental health by learning evidence-based, effective strategies for managing stress, low mood and anxiety and improving resilience. Meetings can be in person if you are within a 30 mile radius of Worcester or online through Skype if you’re further afield.
Together we will develop your health and well-being plan, including evidence-based lifestyle interventions and achievable goals. At review appointments we will check progress and work on specific areas - maybe learning a home yoga sequence, breathing techniques to calm the nervous system, or basic meditation techniques. We won’t measure weight, BMI or waist circumference because weight loss is not the focus of our meetings, although it may be a side-effect of the lifestyle changes we will make together.
You will be choosing to work with me to optimise your health through lifestyle interventions alongside, and not instead of, your usual medical care and treatment. As such I won’t take any blood tests or perform any other investigations, I won’t make diagnoses and I won’t prescribe or make recommendations about medication. If I pick up any specific concerns about your health or have any clinical suspicion, I will advise you to see your GP or specialist. There won’t be any quackery, I won’t sell you supplements, recipes or other products and I won’t advise a specific diet. Please note, I won’t be able to work with you if you are currently under the care of Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust or if you have previously been under my care in my NHS role.
I run group lifestyle workshops and day retreats in beautiful locations that can include lifestyle and neuroscience education, yoga, meditation and breathing and relaxation techniques, to teach you simple ways to manage stress and emotions and build confidence and resilience.
